What is ECAP? (Education and Career Action Plan)
Learn how ECAP helps Arizona students plan their future, explore career options, and meet graduation requirements.
ECAP stands for Education and Career Action Plan. It’s a personalized roadmap that all Arizona high school students are required to update annually from Grade 9 through Grade 12. The goal of ECAP is to help students understand who they are, what careers they’re interested in, and what steps they need to take to reach their goals—both in school and beyond.
What’s Included in an ECAP?
Each student’s ECAP covers four key areas:
Area | What It Covers |
---|---|
Academic Goals | Courses taken, grades earned, and graduation progress |
Career Goals | Interests, skills, RIASEC results, and career exploration |
Postsecondary Plans | College, trade school, military, or direct-to-work options |
Extracurricular Activities | Sports, clubs, community service, work, or leadership roles |
