Learn about the different roles that a user can have.

There are multiple roles available to people who use the Edge Factor platform. Each role grants one or more privileges that will unlock certain aspects of the platform.  For example, one role allows managing user accounts, another role allows you to assign content, another role allows you to publish content, and so on. You can assign multiple roles to grant additional privileges to a user.

Network Administrator

As a Network Administrator you are able to...

Please email support@edgefactor.com if you need to assign someone the role of Network Administrator.

IT Administrator

As an IT Administrator you are able to...

  • Setup and manage rostering apps (i.e. Clever, D2L|BrightSpace, etc).
  • Create and delete user accounts.
  • Rename users, change roles, and change passwords. 
Account Administrator

As an account administrator you are able to...

Marketer As a marketer you are able to...
  • Create and publish content on the Edge Factor platform. You could promote the programs at your school or the careers at your company.
Educator

As an educator you are able to...

Employee

As an employee you are able to...

  • Self-explore and access all of the content on the platform.
Student

As a student you are able to...

  • Self-explore and access the content on the platform.
  • Complete classwork that has been assigned to you.
  • Bookmark content that interests you (i.e. Careers) to your Favourites page.
Anonymous User

If you have signed into Edge Factor using a QuickStart link...

  • You will be able to browse and access the content on the platform.
  • Share content with students.
Guest If you aren't logged in, or part of an organization with a membership, you will be able to browse the content on the platform. Keep in mind much of the content may be locked.
