The Student Experience on Edge Factor

The Edge Factor platform is designed to help students explore careers, discover their interests, and build the skills they need for the future. While educators have a different experience with more tools for assigning content and tracking progress, students have their own personalized view with features that are simple, fun, and focused on their career journey.

Your My Journey Page

Your My Journey page is your personalized homepage — built just for students! It includes:

  • Career Journey Pathway: Start your journey by taking the Career Assessment (RIASEC quiz) and unlock your unique path.

  • Assigned Classes: See any classes you've been added to by your teachers.

  • Achievements & Badges: View badges you've earned, including Learn & Earn, industry, and journey-level badges.

  • Favorites: Revisit videos and series you've given a thumbs up to.

  • Continue Watching: Pick up where you left off with any in-progress content.

  • Learn & Earn: Explore monthly careers and win prizes by completing badges.

  • Industry Exploration: Dive into different sectors that match your interests.

Note: If it’s your first time logging in, your “Classes” section will be empty until your teacher adds you or you join with a class code.

Your Library Page (Student Version)

As a student, your Library Page looks a little different than a teacher’s:

  • It’s simplified and organized just for learners.

  • You’ll see featured series, industry pages, and recommended career exploration videos.

  • You won’t see tools like lesson plans, curriculum pages, or educator toolkits—those are only available in the educator library.

But you can still access:

  • The Help Desk (Knowledge Base) for support

  • Translation features to view content in multiple languages

  • Accessibility options to adjust your viewing experience

What’s Missing Compared to Educators?

Educators have access to features that students don’t, including:

  • Workspace: Where teachers create classes and assign content

  • Lesson Plans: Educator-only downloadable resources

  • Curriculum Pages: Tailored pages aligned with regional standards

  • Classroom Progress Tools: For reviewing student grades and completion rates

But don’t worry—everything you see is focused on you and your journey.
