Ensuring Email Delivery from Edge Factor

If users aren't receiving password resets or system emails, your organization’s security settings may be blocking or filtering messages. Edge Factor sends email through a verified domain using SendGrid. This article explains how to ensure successful delivery.

Allowlist EdgeFactor Domains & Addresses

Please allowlist the following:

  • Domain: edgefactor.com
  • Email address: info@edgefactor.com

Ensure these are added to your Safe Senders or Trusted Domains lists in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or any third-party email security tool (Mimecast, Barracuda, Proofpoint, etc.).

Allow SendGrid Email Delivery

EdgeFactor uses SendGrid for outbound mail delivery. Verify that mail filters, spam gateways, or firewalls are not blocking SendGrid IP ranges or domains.

  • Recommended Action: Allow mail traffic from the domain sendgrid.net
  • For IP ranges, refer to SendGrid’s official documentation.

Firewall and Gateway Rules

Check that your firewall or email gateway allows inbound SMTP traffic from SendGrid, supports TLS-encrypted mail connections, and does not block unknown senders.

Spam or Quarantine Review

If users report missing emails, ask them to check their Spam, Junk, or Quarantine folders. Confirm filters are not classifying info@edgefactor.com as promotional or suspicious.

Student and Educator Email Access

Some districts or institutions restrict external emails for certain user groups. Confirm whether students and educators can receive emails from outside domains. If restricted, inform EdgeFactor to explore alternate delivery options.

Message Trace and Delivery Logs

Your IT team can use mail logs to confirm message attempts. Check for messages from info@edgefactor.com or edgefactor.com and review SMTP rejection reasons if any.

If available, share with EdgeFactor Support: affected addresses, date/time, and rejection details.

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC Compliance

EdgeFactor maintains valid SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. If your mail system enforces strict inbound verification, ensure filters recognize these records. You can test our domain authentication via tools like MXToolbox SPF/DKIM Check.

Greylisting or Rate Limiting

If your mail server uses greylisting or rate limiting, first-time messages from EdgeFactor may be delayed. Once allowed, subsequent deliveries will proceed normally.

Summary — IT Should Confirm:

  1. edgefactor.com and info@edgefactor.com are allowlisted
  2. SendGrid traffic is permitted.
  3. No firewall or spam rules are blocking EdgeFactor emails.
  4. Students and educators can receive external messages.
  5. Message trace shows successful or failed delivery attempts.
